Picking veggies directly from the Polytunnel is a sure-fire way to get kids to eat their greens.
There is nothing so satisfying than walking through the Poly tunnel with a bowl, basket, box, straw hat (in fact whatever you can find) in hand, planning lunch based on what is ripe, juicy, crunchy and ready to pick and eat. The fun you can have growing your own dinner, even cooking your own dinner alfresco in your vegetable gardens, allotments or Polytunnels! (like we did)
Polytunnel Vegetable gardening is a wonderful way to introduce children to the joy of growing too. Constantly learning new things and growing different varieties of fruit and veggies. Watching seeds and plants grow from tiny seedlings into established crops, tending them and keeping an eye on their progress, protecting them from invaders (in the form of slugs and bugs!), really is quite an exciting adventure. Growing vegetables is FUN & priceless family time!
Growing your own is an excellent way to get children interested in preparing and eating the fruits and vegetables that they have grown from scratch. Discovering not only Mother Nature hard at work but also where vegetables come from, how they grow, what they look like, try new foods, textures and flavours. Children delight in growing their very own vegetables!
Home grown fruit and vegetables are the pride of any gardener and what better way to do so than letting your little ones plant and take care of their very own garden?
There is nothing more satisfying than serving up dinner with produce that has been grown and picked from your back garden, allotment, Greenhouse or Polytunnel, the flavour is like none other (with a smidgen of melted butter ) simple, real, delicious food…:-)
The outdoor classroom, one room has so many uses – perfect whatever the weather!
